Our Story

The Children’s Advocacy Center was established because sexually abused children were being further traumatized by the intervention process that was designed to protect them.

Concerned citizens saw the need for a more child-friendly approach and better coordination in response to child sexual abuse.

In 1998 Robinson Memorial Hospital donated space which enabled the Center to expand its services to child victims and their families.

The Center is accredited by the National Children’s Alliance. It is an independent, 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.

“It was very hard to hear what my daughter told the nurse, but everyone was very supportive and caring.”

“I am not sure how I would have gotten through this without the support of the CAC.”
