Leave a Lasting Impact with Child Advocacy Center Donations

Your tax-deductible gift helps the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) support families and promote child abuse prevention across Portage County. Thanks to your generous donations, families can access comprehensive wraparound services at no cost, and the CAC can continue to offer free training to professionals and community members on recognizing, responding to, and preventing child abuse.

Each family that visits the CAC is met with care and support—including access to basic needs and comfort items. These wraparound services may include non-perishable food, hygiene kits, blankets, hats and gloves, small gifts for children and teens, self-care items like journals, and resource referrals.

Current CAC Needs Include:

  • Hygiene products (shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothbrushes/paste, body wash, etc.)

  • Non-perishable food items and snacks

  • Bed-in-a-Bag sets and blankets

  • Small items for teens (e.g., fidget items, journals, games, cosmetics)

  • Small comfort gifts for children

  • Stuffed animals

  • Gas cards or gift cards (Walmart, Target, grocery stores)

To learn more or donate items, please contact us at CAC@UHHospitals.org or call 330-297-8838.

Together, we can continue showing families that they are not alone.

Strengthening Support: How the CAC Is Expanding Services in 2026

In 2026, the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) continues to grow and strengthen its impact across Portage County. We’ve expanded prevention programming, strengthened multidisciplinary partnerships, and proudly lead the Portage County Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition, bringing vital awareness and coordinated action to our community.

We continue to expand access to trauma-informed services for children and families by connecting them with trusted local providers and offering comprehensive wraparound support.

We are also proud to offer Online Safety Training for children, caregivers and community members. This training provides tools to stay safe online, recognize warning signs, and respond to digital threats. It is offered both virtually and in person to reach families across our community.

You can help make a difference.

To learn more, contact us at CAC@UHHospitals.org or call 330-297-8838. Together, we’re creating a safer, stronger future for children in our community.
