Strengthening Support: How the CAC Is Expanding Services in 2025
In 2025, the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of Portage County continues to grow as a beacon of healing, prevention, and support for children and families navigating the trauma of abuse, violence, and exploitation. With a clear mission to protect children and promote recovery, the CAC has expanded its services in powerful and tangible ways—ensuring that no child in our community has to face trauma alone.
One of the most impactful developments this year has been our continued work to expand access to trauma-informed services for children in Portage County who have experienced abuse or other traumatic events. The CAC is committed to helping families connect with trusted local providers, ensuring that children receive the compassionate mental health support they need—without unnecessary barriers.
The CAC is also working on another exciting initiative: the development of an Online Safety Training for both clients and caregivers, with a planned launch date of September 2025. As families navigate an increasingly digital world, this training will help equip children and adults with tools to stay safe online, recognize warning signs, and respond appropriately to digital threats. Once completed, the training will be offered virtually and in person to meet the diverse needs of those we serve.
These vital services remain completely free to children and families, and they are made possible through generous donations and fundraising events like Bowl Against Abuse.
Be a Part of the Impact
Have you considered becoming a sponsor or creating a bowling team for Bowl Against Abuse? 2026 could be your year! Teams raise money leading up to the event and come together for a fun day of bowling, raffles, and community spirit—all in support of local children.
Sponsors are recognized across social media, the CAC website, banners at the event, and printed materials.
By participating, you’re helping the CAC provide free services like forensic interviews, family advocacy, prevention education, case coordination, and connections to trauma-focused therapy—ensuring that every child in need has a path to hope and healing.
