Children’s Advocacy Training and Awareness Programs

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Portage County (CAC) provides free training — in person and completely virtual — to community members and professionals. Whether you are a hospital, school, daycare center, student sports team or club, community center or church, or other institution otherwise serving children or youth, effective training is a critical component of keeping children protected.

The informational sessions we provide span mandated child abuse reporting, awareness, recognition of child abuse, prevention, and human trafficking. Our programs are critical in promoting the health and well-being of children, developing policies, and providing information for effective implementation.

Is your team equipped to recognize patterns of child abuse? Does your organization know when abuse reporting is mandated by law? Unsure of the support services we offer at the CAC? If you have any of the above questions or more, we have the platform to help answer them. Whether you are interested in setting up a training session, having one of our team members speak at an event, or could use a tour of our facilities, reach out to our team and learn how we can help.

Join the Movement and Keep Up with the Latest Information

Did you know we also facilitate Portage County’s first Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition? The coalition meets quarterly and is attended by a variety of community members. Join the coalition to keep up with our latest initiatives in the community, better understand the impact of COVID-19 on our efforts, unpack changing trends and statistics, and bring back essential information to your organization and team to better promote the health and safety of children.
