Bowl Against Abuse is the Children’s Advocacy Center’s only fundraiser that takes place typically in April, Child Abuse Awareness Month. Due to covid, the fundraiser was cancelled in 2020, however, almost all of the teams and sponsors still donated, allowing the CAC to raise $18,000! In 2021, the fundraiser was delayed until October, and inevitably turned into a virtual basket raffle, due to covid again! Still the community and sponsors supported the CAC, raising a little over $28,000! In 2022, the CAC held a virtual basket raffle in September in an attempt to have the in-person event again in 2023. Yet again the Portage County Community and Sponsors showed incredible support to the CAC raising a little over $30,000! Thank you Portage County!
The CAC provides all free services to children, youth, and families navigating the trauma of child sexual abuse, child physical abuse, family violence, witness to violence, human trafficking, and child pornography. Portage County coming together to support the CAC allows for these free services to continue, as well as, spreads awareness of the CAC!
In 2023 Bowl Against Abuse will return in-person! Date to be released soon! You can be a sponsor of the CAC! Sponsors of the CAC are recognized at varying levels on social media, the CAC website, a mailer, a banner at the in-person event, and in 2022 a magnet mailed to all participants! Everyone is also welcome to participate as a CAC Bowl Against Abuse Team! Team raise money on their own, with the team raising the most money winning the coveted Golden Bowling Pin! Teams sign up for a session at the event to bowl, participate in raffles, and have an amazing time supporting the CAC!
