Children’s Advocacy Training and Awareness Programs

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Portage County (CAC) provides free training — in person and completely virtual — to community members, professionals, caregivers, and youth. Whether you are a hospital, school, daycare center, student sports team or club, community center or church, or other institution serving children or youth, effective training is a critical component of keeping children protected.

The informational sessions we provide span mandated child abuse reporting, awareness, child abuse awareness and prevention, online safety education, recognition of exploitation and trafficking, and human trafficking awareness. Our programs are critical in promoting the health and well-being of children, developing policies, and providing information for effective implementation.

Is your team equipped to recognize patterns of child abuse? Does your organization know when abuse reporting is mandated by law? Are you looking for age-appropriate online safety education for youth? If you have any of these questions, we are here to help. Whether you are interested in setting up a training session, having one of our team members speak at an event, or arranging youth-focused online safety programming, reach out to our team to learn how we can help.

Join the Movement and Keep Up with the Latest Information

Did you know we also facilitate Portage County’s first Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition? The coalition meets quarterly and is attended by a variety of community members. Join the coalition to keep up with our latest initiatives in the community, better understand the impact of COVID-19 on our efforts, unpack changing trends and statistics, and bring back essential information to your organization and team to better promote the health and safety of children.
